Curriculum Crossover

If your child’s school follows a British curriculum, the IGCSE English specification they sit is very likely identical to the one taught in leading UK independent schools. It is a globally set qualification: the same papers, the same exam series, sat worldwide.

Students study texts from a set anthology series, the same regardless of your location, and I’ve been working through this with students for nearly a decade. I can honestly say that I know this almost off by heart.

Why International Students Work Well With Me

Most students underperform not because they don’t understand English, but because nobody has taught them how to actually get marks. I go deep on the mark scheme: what examiners reward, what they ignore, and exactly how to structure every answer. That’s what I do in every session, and it’s what a large international school class, however good, rarely has the time to do individually.

Every week your child completes targeted work between sessions, then receives clear, word-processed feedback with specific next steps, not vague comments, but feedback they can actually act on. We don’t move on until I know they understand and feel confident. Students also have access to me via Microsoft Teams between sessions, so help is never far away.
